Abstract

The event is one of the unavoidable narratological categories for defning the minimum conditions of story. Beginning with Aristotle, structuralist, semiotic and post-classical approaches analyzing the properties of this narratological category, conditions and the level of its representation in the narrative text. Graduation events and analysis of eventfulness can be seen in Y. Lotman. In the study „Событийность, субъектиконтекст“, W. Schmid analyzes the eventfulness from the perspective of post-classical narratological research. With the systematization of conditions of eventfulness, this category Schmid considers diachronically, in relation to the rituality of the storytelling, perception, mentality, and genres. For its conclusions, Schmid gives examples from Russian literature. Schmid’s study „Событийность, субъектиконтекст“ was published in collection of papers from international scientifc conference, dedicated to the problems of theory and history of eventfulness in the literature and philosophy.
